Mise en scene:
- There are many props and items in the music video that correspond to the negative stereotypes that are associated with youth.
- Stolen items: a goose, a shopping trolley
- The stolen items represent the rebellion portrayed by young people, and that youth are often seen as vandals who are a menace to society
Clothing:
- A strong sense of social class is used in this video, and the choice of attire of the people help distinguish between the social classes.
The large variety of social groups in the video, is counteractive towards the clear distinct social boundaries that are usual present in youth life
Women:
- The women were dressed quite scantily clad, which could be perceived as empowering, by embracing their sexuality, yet in this context it was to embrace youth whilst the opportunity was available, added with the dominant emotion of wanted to be noticed in the “high school era” and wearing revealing clothes allowed women to feel more comfortable and accepted by the men in the video.
Men:
- The men were dressed in very casual and dark clothes, the symbolism of this is that the less time spent on their apparel, increased the masculinity of the men, giving a “devil may care this way” vibe.
Editing:
- Straight cuts
- Jump cuts
- Shot reverse shots
